Yangon, 15th August 2012 -

         The Opening Ceremony of the Workshop on enhancing capacity building of the Schools for the Disabled sponsored by Department of Social Welfare was held at the School for Disabled Children, Kyaik Wine Pagoda Road, Mayangone Townshop, Yangon Division at 9 am on 15th August 2012. U Saw Win, Director (Rehabilitation Division) made an opening speech at the ceremony and also gave necessary guidances.

         The objectives of the workshop are to learn and gain basic education, to earn for their living with their own vocational skills and to reintegrate into the society and participate in community services with dignity.

         A total of 30 staff and officials from the Schools for the Disabled under the Department of Social Welfare actively participated in the workshop, discussing vocational trainings, Job opportunities, special education and inclusive education, independent living and community based rehabilitation services, it is learnt.
